March 13, 2020 By: Bril

5 Flavour Packed Summer Time Ideas to Keep Your Kid Hydrated Summer is here and by the look of things it is going to be the hottest one ever. So the first thing you need to do is keep your kid hydrated. Here are some fun flavour packed ideas to do so.

Flavoured Water : As a means of hydration nothing beats water, it has all the benefits and none of the calories of other drinks. To ensure your kid drinks enough water during the course of the day make it more interesting by adding fruits to it. Fruits like strawberries, pineapples, limes etc add flavour and also nutrients to water.

Fruit Ice Cubes : Increase the fun quotient by adding in an individual piece of the cut fruits to each ice cube slot, before pouring in water and freezing. These ice cubes will add a splash of beautiful colour when added to a glass of water. In fact a mix of fruit ice cubes floating in a jug of water adds a wow factor to any picnic or party.

Fresh Fruit Juices :This beats fizzy drinks any day in terms of health benefits. Make use of the availability of summer fruits like watermelon, muskmelons or limes which are very refreshing and pack in a lot of nutrients. However fruit juices still contain a fair amount of natural sugars, so don’t add more sugar and restrict the number of glasses to one or two a day.

Smoothies:   A wholesome yummy way to get your child to have their veggies and enjoy it too! You can also try out amazing smoothies using a combination of fruits and veggies like oranges and carrots, mangoes and cucumbers etc.

Ice Lollies  :Homemade ice lollies make for an amazing all natural summer treat for your child.  Puree summer fruits like mangoes, strawberries, watermelons, grapes, pineapples etc and freeze them in ice lolly moulds. Don’t worry if you don’t have a mould, a disposable paper cup will serve just as well, just fill it with the pureed mixture, add a wooden craft stick and into the freezer it goes! For parties add cut pieces of the fruit and you have a visually stunning yummy treat.

So go ahead and try these various flavour packed ideas to keep your child happy and hydrated.
