6 ways to Boost Your Immune System During Cold and Flu Season.

Do you remember the last time you consciously went on a healthy diet to build your immune system? Do you pack oranges and apples in your snack box? Are you someone who drinks homemade gruel to soothe your tummy or even as a measure to detoxify your immune system?

 These granny tips are familiar to us, but how often do we really apply them to strengthen ourselves? It’s significant as we consume adulterated food almost every day and don’t have a choice but to adhere to ways to boost our immune system, not just during the cold and flu season but at all times. Let’s read on to find out how.

  1. Keep Yourself Hydrated

Drinking lots of water frequently flushes out toxic substances from your body. It also lubricates your bones and muscles to make you more flexible. Consuming more fluids gives you instant energy when you are sick.

  1. Regular Intake of Zinc and Vitamin C

Eat fresh veggies like green leafy ones to give your body ample volume of zinc. Also, remember to include a small portion of citric fruits like oranges, grapefruit, gooseberries, and strawberries in your daily meal at least once.

  1. Sleep Well

No one is spared from stress these days. What can recharge you at the end of a stressful day is rest. So make sure you sleep well, no matter what.

  1. Keep Surfaces Germ-Free

The pandemic taught us how hygiene could keep us from falling sick and infecting others. Keep your most used objects, like sofas, laptops, countertops, and washrooms, clean with a disinfectant, and wash clothes regularly. Not allowing germs to breed is

Consume fewer sugary drinks and chocolates as empty calories are hardly beneficial to the body. Instead, make drinks at home using herbs available in your kitchen garden to refresh yourself. And to satisfy your sweet tooth, have fresh or dried fruit substitutes. Doesn’t that sound great?

  1. Say No to Stimulants

Caffeine may give that instant energy when you need it the most. However, stimulants like coffee and sweetened energy drinks suppress antibodies. While reducing nicotine and alcohol intake is a great way to build your immune system, find alternatives to substitute stimulants.
