When we were young, our upbringing looked more like a single person’s responsibility. As men folk earned for the family, our mothers managed home chores and looked after the family(sometimes huge and without complaints). Did we even know if our mothers had bad days, mood swings, or exhaustion? It was rather a mom’s burnout that went unnoticed most of the time.

Today when the media and mass discuss topics that deal with human well-being, parental burnout comes to light seeking more positive interventions.   1. Take One Step at a Time

Mothers tend to consider themselves superwomen with extreme powers. It may look good initially, but exhaustion will soon set in. Instead, when you prioritize things and communicate the same with the rest of the family without inhibitions, you may get appreciated and feel much better.

As parents, it’s true you are the caretakers for the weaker and smaller ones. But it also does not mean that you should decide for yourself, others, and on behalf of others. Sometimes a collective solution can make things lighter.

When unexpected events topple your plans, accept it was not your day. The pandemic has taught all of us that agility is the way out. When you confront situations that are new to you and are challenging, face them with a spirit to do your best rather than blaming your stars.

In a term or whenever possible, go to a favorite destination where you only relax. Make sure this process of unwinding is emotional and physical. Allow imperfections to partner with you, and remember not to insist on rules for anyone.
