How To Introduce Salt In Your Baby’s Food? After 6 months of breastfeeding, you must be wondering how to introduce your baby to solid foods. While cereals and purees make their way into your baby’s diet, the big question is how do you get your infant to eat saltless food?The answer is – get creative. So how do you trick your little one into eating saltless purees?

You can try other herbs and other flavours and try recipes that are composed mostly of vegetables,which naturally contain salt.

Here are some examples of some yummy recipes 

  • Sweet Potato + Thyme
  • Apple + Clove
  • Broccoli + Chives
  • Peach + Vanilla Bean
  • Carrot + Ginger
  • Pear + Nutmeg
  • Butternut Squash + Cilantro
  • Green Bean + Basil
  • Banana + Cinnamon
  • Mango + Mint

Such clever concoctions will keep your baby happy and full! You Do NOT need salt!

What are the other items you can feed your baby?fruit

  • vegetables and salad
  • plain meat
  • poultry and fresh fish
  • eggs
  • pulses (for example, lentils and chickpeas)
  • her usual milk#Tip: Don’t worry about your baby missing salt; babies don’t know what salt tastes like to miss it!

    #Tip: Rice and pasta are also good options as they are low on salt, provided you don’t add salt while boiling water.

    Keep your child away from processed foods as they contain high amounts of salt. For eg:

  • fruit
  • vegetables and salad
  • plain meat
  • poultry and fresh fish
  • eggs
  • pulses (for example, lentils and chickpeas)
  • her usual milk
